(Jan 7) Home Based Income Opportunities

Seems that today's global market offers a lot of opportunity to those willing to think out of the 9 to 5 box. I would dearly love to find something that we could do to earn money that would allow us to stop our regular corporate jobs and live in the cabin we are building in East Texas. Here are a list of possibilities. I just wanted to put some down and have a place to discuss Pros and Cons.

Window Tinting
    Pros - Already have business set up. We would just need to market it more. Great $$$/hr opportunity.

    Cons - Travel to do demo/quote would eat up a lot of gas from out there. Very seasonal - mainly in summer. No income in winter.

Worm Farming
    Pros - Fairly low startup costs. We could use all of the worm castings for our own gardening efforts. Might have good selling opportunities being that close to the lakes.

    Cons - Lots of labor. No experience. 

Tutoring
    Pros - reasonable $$/hr. Lots of opportunity.

    Cons - No experience. Liability? 

Sewing
    Pros - Low start up costs. Have some experience.

    Cons - Low $/hr rate for labor. 

Editing

Travel Evaluation

    Pros - Would have fun traveling. Might be able to take kids and Riley at times.

    Cons - Would be away from home a lot. Gets really old living out of a suitcase.

HR/Bookkeeping Services
    Pros - We have experience. Low start up costs.

    Cons - Liability. Small market. Most work would be at someone else's office. 

Poison Ivy Clearing

    Pros - Lots of experience. Lots of opportunity! Good exercise. Low startup costs.

    Cons - Chiggers! Poison Ivy! Snakes! Spiders! (wait a minute - it's starting to sound a lot like home! :)

Organic Gardening

    Pros - Low cost of startup. Lots of experience. Lots of fresh food for us to eat also.

    Cons - Long time for certification - 5 years. Would take lots of water.

Bake Sale
    Pros - Easy as Pie!

    Cons - I'd get even fatter testing all of the baked goods!

    Opportunities - restaurants, home delivery, catering services

Meal Prep/Catering
    Pros - No experience.
    Cons -
    Opportunities - busy moms, corporate meetings. Custom meat smoking?

Transportation & House Sitting Services
    Pros - Easy living.

    Cons -

    Opportunities - to & from service to airport, doctor, shopping, etc. Marketing to assisted living facilities.

House Cleaning
    Pros - Good $$. Experience.

    Cons - Hard Work! Low opportunity?

    Opportunities - Maybe older couples that can no longer do it themselves.

Event Planning
    Pros - Experience

    Cons - Time consuming and demanding.

    Opportunities

Concierge Services
    Pros - Good $$.

    Cons - Low startup costs.

    Opportunities - Small in small town. Pet feeding when out of town. Mail sorting. Shipping coordinating. Home emergency coordination.

Just wanted to start putting some thoughts and observations down. Seems a proper format and I'm here blogging our cabin build in the woods anyway. :)
